“So this review is for foodies who are interested in trying Indian food unlike anything you'd ever find at any local Indian restaurants (not even in Edison/Parisappany/Jersey City!). The cuisine is from Kerala, a small state at the southern tip of India. The people are known as Malayalees as the language they speaking is Malayalam. Royal India is as authentic as it gets when it comes to Kerala cuisine - as evidenced by their appearance at all the big church and home church and home celebrations in our community. Unlike other parts of India - meat is a big part of Kerala cuisine - including fish, pork, and even cows. Kerala food is also unique given its incorporation of coconut and heavy on spices. Its always a little intimidating ordering from an ethnic store, myself included given my poor mastery of Malayalam, but you can order take out online from their website and they have contactless curbside pickup. To those who want to give it a try here are a few recommendations: - If you can deal with fiery foods, be sure to try the Pork Roast. I want to reiterate that it is VERY spicy, but the flavors are off the charts. This is the house specialty as I've never not seen this dish at an event they've catered. - Get a few Parotta's to eat the pork roast with. Its completely different from a roti - soft layers that come apart in your hand - Cutlet - kerala's version of an empanada. Fried and breaded patties stuffed with chicken and spices. - Chilly Chicken - the original Indian-Chinese fusion dish. Much milder than the name suggests and honestly tastes like it could've come from a Chinese restaurant.”

“Stopped in for the first time today after hearing some great reviews and I was not disappointed. The yucca was perfect, as were the cod fritters and hush puppies. “I have never had a issue here. I have only eaten at subway 3 times my whole life and this is the location that I have gone to. The food is ok. After all, It is subway. One time the meat had a refrigerated taste and the other two times it tasted fresh. The staff, no matter who it may have been on those days have always been nice and polite. Something I always look for in any restaurant is cleanliness of not only the restaurant but the staff as well. All have always been well groomed and manicured. Always friendly and polite. There is never really too long of a wait and they listen and pay attention to what you want. The bathroom was clean. Thank you management and staff!”
