  I had the most unfortunate experience of placing my mom in a nursing home about a month and a half ago suffering from acute dementia. Most importantly to take not is how vital it is to do your due diligence in getting it right. I found myself basically stumbling thru the process having moved from the area 44 years ago. With that said I was backed into a corner of having to choose in a short period of time. Sadly I choose wrong. After 2 days of my mom being admitted I witnessed so much inhuman handling of the patients that by the end of the 2nd day I went looking for an alternate facility. After having exhausted my resources working with community organizations I choose to visit Manor Care in West Deptford and was overwhelmed the careing personnel there starting with Samantha Pinner (Director of Admissions). She showed enormous compassion in helping me get mom moved. I moved mom into Manor the 3rd day after my initial mistake. That day I was introduced to Nina Bobkovs, the Social Director. This women is Sister Theresa and Aunt B roled into one. She, along with Joann my moms hospice nurse from the Angelic Health organization, got me thru this traumatic time. Let’s not forget the Nurses stations on my moms floor who treated her with dignity and compassion. God bless you all and only the best wishes for you and yours.

  My grandmother wrote this letter to the staff of manor care after her stay there for physical therapy, and I thought I'd share it here.

  Ms. Peterside
  
  I recently spent five weeks at your facility and want to tell you of my experience there. When I arrived, I couldn't stand without much help. On June 2, 2018, I went home, which I wanted to do so much. It would not have been possible without Manor Care.
  
  The doctors were professional and courteous, deciding my medications and treatment plans. My nurses and NA's took care of dispensing my medication, and every thing else I needed. They are the greatest nurses and NA's I've ever had the luck to have. Wanda, Greg, Adrianna Erin G, Carissa, Latosha, Bethany, Bill G, Lizbeth, and sweet Sarah, always smiling and offering encouragement. I've certainly missed a few, like the lovely woman who came to take me to get weighed early in the morning. I hope they forgive me.
  
  I would like to thank Lyndon and John, the physical therapists who helped my muscles and bones. They worked very hard, and made me work hard so I could return home.
  
  I would also like to thank Stephanie, who helped me learn to take better care of myself, find my way around a kitchen again, improve my muscles with weights, do puzzles and learn my way around a kitchen again. My daughter and granddaughter will be eternally grateful because I can do dishes! I wasn't doing anything right before I left the house! There were other therapists with whom I woked, and they were all very good.
  
  I would like to thank the ladies who operate the activities bingo, trivia games, coffee hour, the beautiful Luau-Kris, Adeline, Christine. I enjoyed myself during those activities. Also enjoyed the people I met, I loved hearing about their lives, and where they used to live and what they enjoyed. I love hearing about someone's family from Lithuania, someone who served in Vietnam, and all about our differences and our similarities. It was an excellent social experience and I was there as much as possible.
  
  Thanks also to Bill and Nick of the Dietary Department. They worked very hard to make everyone happy, which is not often easy to do when it comes to nutrition, but I can honestly say the food was excellent. The pizza was out of this world! Every time fish was offered, I ordered it. It's better than what I make at home!
  
  I would also like to thank Dan Hollingsworth, who was very helpful to me and organized a graduation ceremony.
  
  I would also like to thank Dave Griswold, of Maintenance, who always stopped to give me a world of encouragement.
  
  The room cleaners, the floor buffers, the cafeteria workers. Everyone was pleasant and hard-working.
  
  Most of all, I want to thank my son, Ron. Not just because he's my son, and I love him, but because he knew I would be helped the most at Manor Care.
  
  I would recommend ManorCare to anyone. It was truly a life-giving experience for me. Thank you

  My mother was here for three weeks, call bells were answered quickly, the facility was clean, it smelled good all of the time. The nursing staff was caring and compassionate and the rehab department was Great!

  My grandmother has been there for a little more than a year. It’s an amazing facility, and we are so glad we found it. We don’t even feel that it’s a nursing home. The staff is very friendly and provides the best service possible. Very grateful that we’ve found this place! Thank you to everyone there!
