We stayed here while my husband ran the NYC marathon. We had a quiet spot. They had just shut the water off but we had plenty until we left. They had a water fill and dump station on the way out. Showers were nice and heated. We will come back!
Beautiful park! Very scenic! Definitely a great spot to walk your dogs or go for a leisurely stroll. Great place to exercise and they have a little ball park.
A very quiet and surprisingly nature-filled campground. Great getaway spot for young our old adults, close to lakes, fine dining, and more. Not much for kids to do so if you're bringing the young ones this might not be for you. It is however a fantastic stop for grownups!
Campground is clean and well kept. The local ranger really loves his campground and it shows. He cares about the wildlife and proper education of camping to new campers. As in respecting the local wildlife with proper camp etiquette. We really enjoyed our stay, beautiful area. Heavily shaded spots. Lots of stars and wildlife. Showers were clean and hot. Worse complaint is when an acorn hit the top of the camper, and scared us all to death.
I didn't stay in the campground but started the yellow trail loop from the tent sites on Weldon Rd. By the time I left on Friday night, two campsites were occupied, with most of the rest reserved for the next day. So if you're planning to camp on a weekend, definitely book ahead.
I took the yellow loop, which was well marked and clear cut. Most of it is appropriate for mountain biking and horseback riding as well as hiking. I'd say it is an intermediate trail, simply for the length (took me about three hours), though it's mostly flat. Didn't see more than two people the whole time. Very nice hike, but bring bug spray!
We stayed here for one week. Highly recommended this place quite, clean, beautiful place for walking, spacious, and woodsy. Mahlon Dickerson Res 995 Weldon Road Jefferson NJ 07438 Phone : (973 ...
