I just moved to Metuchen and unfortunately due to unexpected issues at my current apartment complex, I had to look for another apartment. I made an appointment with Irene Harrington, Community Manager, at The Hub in Metuchen. Irene listened patiently to the issues I was experiencing and conveyed empathy for my situation. Luckily for me in a couple weeks time, the perfect apartment became available and I will be moving into The Hub at the end of July. I cannot thank Irene enough for her professionalism, kindness and understanding. Irene possesses a genuine warmth and has an amazing way with people. She went above and beyond which unfortunately is rare in today’s world.
As a recent transferee with a major construction company; I found myself on a search for what I would now call home.
I was attracted to The Hub online so I called to inquire and spoke with Dottie who made an appointment to visit.
On my appointment day I was met at the door by Karen with a smile and a professional handshake introduction.
During my visit Karen spent over an hour and a half with me; I loved the first apartment she showed me!! We did look at others as I was indecisive as to what floor I wanted to be on and Karen offered me a suggestion that made the most sense and ultimately it was a suggestion that ended up really best suiting my needs.
After my appointment I went on to visit MANY other apartment options; with only two other contenders but none offered the same beautiful, comfortably designed, quaint, quiet setting that my mind kept going back to... The Hub!! & I have to say the other contenders did not have Karen!!
Karen was responsive (even after hours via email), patient, efficient, helpful, professional and informative throughout my entire experience!
On move in day Karen was onsite and had everything ready for me to formalize. After paperwork was signed she walked me down to my apartment, went over logistics and coordinated my move in with another move in that same day. She made sure both parties needs were met and checked in with each of us before she left for the day.
Honestly, I never do reviews but felt my experience/interaction with Karen, Joe and Vinny at The Hub is deserving of the positive feedback!
Looked at five apartments and found this complex to have the best combination of amenities, area and individuals willing to assist us. We did not have an experience with the previous individual in the office where there have been issues reported. We worked with Karen who was extremely helpful. We were shown multiple different apartments by her. She answered all of our questions and spent a considerable amount of time working with us on the rental process. She kept us informed of the process all the way from start to finish. Having worked with multiple different rental apartment individuals over the past few years, I was quite impressed at the level of service from her.
I applied here through the affordable housing program and was lucky enough to be the first to move here. The site is BEAUTIFUL and I am so happy with the place.
I gave 4 stars only because I wasn't told in the beginning when it came to signing the lease that there were 3 buildings. I assumed it was just the main building 658 Middlesex ave. address. When it came for me to move in I was placed in one of the buildings across the way which was fine but I just felt so separated being that I wasn't aware I wouldn't be living in the main building. The only way to have access is with a fob key and was told we can only have ONE FOB key when in the main building you do not need one. The building also doesn't have an elevator which I did not know as well until move in day which WAS and still is a challenge to get used to being that I have a newborn baby. It just would've been nice that I was informed about this in the beginning otherwise I probably would have turned it down being that we get one FOB KEY access to the building and no elevator. I also had MAJOR issues with the mail when changing address I had to call the USPS service because the address was not in their system being it is a brand new site which I thought that's management responsibility to make sure that was taking care of before moving residents in. That also was quite a challenge it took over a month for me to finally get my mail.
Other than that I am VERY happy I had the opportunity to move here the place is gorgeous and everything is right in walking distance.
