“I know some are of the belief that if you know of a "local gem" don't share it. Well, sometimes places like Monroe Park Pharmacy just deserve the praise. Sal and his employees are examples of what a pharmacy should be like.. how to run it, how to treat customers, how to expedite rx(s), etc. The big chain pharmacies should literally take a page from their playbook. I have never once had a negative experience there and I have been a customer for at least six+ years. Have an issue with your insurance or approvals, they will help you. They literally will go out of their way to make sure that you NEVER leave without a resolution. Go find that in one of the chain stores for me. (b/c you won't) Once in awhile you will find a line but it is minimal (I'm talking 10-15 min wait tops) compared to that of other pharmacies. And they will ALWAYS let you know a realistic time of how long you have to wait, most times I go there I usually wait under five minutes total. I am always impressed by Monroe Park's level of professionalism and care. I couldn't recommend them more.”

“I had a terrific experience at Nationwide Gold and Estate Buyers. Amanda and her father were wonderful; they spent a lot of time with me, answering my many questions with great detail and patience. Amanda gave me a lot of important information on some pieces that she knew I wasn't even going to leave with her, and her father made sure that I left with much more for the coins I had brought with me than I ever assumed I would. I also have to include a comment on what kind and considerate people they are. I was 30 minutes late to the appointment because of traffic issues, and because my cell phone died, I wasn't able to call them. They were completely welcoming and forgiving about my lateness. They had just found someone's purse in the middle of the road and were very concerned about how to return it to the owner. They called the police, the owner was notified, and she came to the store to retrieve it. Amanda and her dad were as happy as the owner, knowing that they were able to get the purse back to her. It made my day to meet such caring people. I would definitely go back there again.”

“Mid-State Meats has a variety of food and meats. They sell high quality cuts of meat that taste very good when cooked correctly. Their deli meats are a little bit older than the ones at some other places, so they tend to expire a little bit quicker. They have very good subs for okay prices, and their heat and serve dishes (macaroni and cheese, raviolis, potato pancakes, spaghetti and meatballs, etc.) taste very fresh and are good last minute side dishes. Their macaroni salads and other salads are also very good and taste fresh as well. The staff here is very nice and friendly. Overall I would say this is a great place to go to get lunch or dinner items, not so much for deli meats though if you don't eat them quickly.”
