JOYSOMA Acupuncture

I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to receive acupuncture treatments from Joyce! She helped me immensely with a long-term hamstring injury and provided a lot of useful information and insight for a holistic approach to my healing process. Joyce is a very kind and calming person, and I felt comfortable and at ease in her welcoming space. I would definitely recommend her practice to anyone. :)

Joyce is gentle, kind, and her heart remains open. She has helped me through a lot of emotional/psychological trauma, physical pain, and has been very nurturing/supportive during the most difficult transition in my life. I always feel safe to release repressed energy in her space, and I trust that she’ll provide me with the exact treatment I need to walk away feeling lighter.

My experience:

I have been seeing Joyce since February 2021.

We started doing treatments once a week for about 2-3 months, then shifted to every two weeks up to this day. I was experiencing A LOT of symptoms so I didn’t see much benefit the first month or so (other than the peace I was given away from my family). But the way she spoke and explained things when I asked her questions anchored me in the process. As someone who tends to over analyze everything, learning more about how this medicine works allowed me trust the process while letting the unknown do it’s thing.

Around two months in I started to notice how some of my symptoms would improve for a few days following treatment. I would be sleeping a little better, tingling in my hands was fading, some of the tension I was holding in my body would be released, I was becoming more aware of my negative thoughts/behavioral patterns, and a sort of “buffer zone” would exist between my worrying/stressful thoughts versus what was actually true (that there was nothing to truly worry about). I was becoming much more capable of regulating my nervous system. With consistency some of the most irritating symptoms became less and less noticeable for a week or two following a visit. And if I ever miss an appointment I feel the difference, let me tell ya.

Even though the price is a decent portion of my weekly check, I never question whether or not to keep coming back. I have gone down a handful of different avenues over the last few years trying to find relief. Acupuncture continues to serve me well.

I have also had some pretty powerful experiences here. Ones where I revisited past traumatic events which gave me the opportunity to heal some core wounds. I have found great healing emotionally and physically. This has led to changes in my behavior, which has generally resulted in a shift in my thoughts, feelings, and perception, ultimately allowing me to move through a lot of what caused me to be sick. As my energy began to change, my life began to change. Her genuine support when I share my experiences is very appreciated.

The moment walking into JOYSOMA I felt relaxed, clean, and calming office. As someone new to acupuncture I was a bit nervous but after my first treatment I was put to ease! I was visiting for some upper back pain and she help me walk out a new person. Looking forward to my next appointment.

Joyce is wonderful and her practice/office is so relaxing and calming. She has helped me through 2 pregnancies, including using acupuncture to help turn my baby who was was breech.
