She delivered my daughter. She is the sweetest woman. I've never felt more comfortable with a professional. Her smile is so warm, it will make you smile. She was so comforting and positive when I was giving birth, and gave me a big hug and kiss when it was over. She's a wonderful, kind person. You'll feel like you've known her your whole life.
Patty delivered my third baby and I have met the other midwives as well, who are all very nice. They told me from the beginning that they deliver at Jersey Shore, which is why I went to them because I wanted a water birth, which only jersey shore offers near me. They were very happy when I said I had a doula and never said that a midwife would take the place of a doula. They never suggested that I get induced until I was passed my due date and they suggested I try castor oil first, which worked! Patty was with me A LOT when I was in labor, and I delivered my first two with a OBGYN, and I saw him maybe twice during both deliveries. When I was almost 9 cm dilated and my baby’s head was turned to the side, Patty knew exactly what to do so I could stay on track with my natural birth. She had me do lunges, which sounded crazy to me, BUT IT WORKED! My son came down and I was on the bed pushing 15 minutes later. She coaxed me through my natural birth and delivered my son. It was everything I thought it would be. She did delayed cord clamping and stayed with me for a long time after I delivered. I love these midwives because they believe in all the “crunchy” natural things I do, while also being medically safe and sound. I didn’t love jersey shore hospital and much preferred Monmouth, but that doesn’t have much to do with their practice. All in all I was very happy with my experience with the Avon midwives.
