I love this place! An outstanding example of how historic lands can be leveraged to soften the borders in urban-woodland interfaces. It's awesome.
This is our favorite place for my wife and I to go hiking. On this day, we did the complete green (also known as the aqueduct) trail. A little bit more than 1.5 miles, which is a good distance for us. Unfortunately, conditions were not good - warm and very humid, leading to a myriad of insects biting and generally annoying us. Stil,l a very beautiful setting and great to be outdoors in nature.
This is a beautiful historical site. It is where George Washington's Revolutionary army camped out during one of the worst winters ever recorded (1779-1780). It includes a visitor's center, many trails to hike, the Wick farm house & garden, and a replicas of some of the small poorly crafted cabins that each houses twelve soldiers that winter and one of the officers' cabins. This is a great place to visit all year round but especially beautiful in the fall when the leaves turn.
