I loved to walk the roads and trails of this park, but yesterday, the first day of spring, 2023, when I came back from my hike I found out the car that I was driving have been robbed, with a broken window from the passenger seat and my bag with ID, credit card , etc was stolen! Took me a while to call the police and reported because I had no signal on my cell, only te SOS. I found out there is no cameras on the park and I believe the person that did this to me was planning to break to someone’s car , because the window is very hard to get broken and definitely this marginal carries some kind of tool with the intention to do that. I can never go back to my hiking to this park anymore . I will never going to feel safe. I am in distress and cannot sleep. There is violent people with bad intentions walking over there.
Interesting Revolutionary War historical site. You can hike a number of trails or do an easy driving loop to see the main sights. If driving, definitely get out and wander around the Wick House and soldier cabins. Not a ton to see and do but worth a stop if visiting the area or extended time if you live nearby.
Several very well-marked trails. I believe there are 27 miles of the trails and many different routes. Some historical information, though more can be found out at Washington Headquarters.
A great place to hike on a national historical land site. George Washington and his troops stayed here for 3 winters.
If you are looking for where the troops toughed out the extreme winter then you should head to Jockey Hollow. The conditions were so harsh, there where mutinies, and soldiers without shoes and clothing. Their is a nice tour road taking you to various sites and monuments including recreated soldiers cabins. Hours are less than posted due to COVID...
