I’m 5 weeks into doing Jiu Jitsu at Summus and I’m thoroughly enjoying the sport. The instructors and team are incredibly friendly, respectful, and are willing to work with newcomers like myself. Summus is like a second home. The quality of people and beauty of the academy is unmatched in my family's twelve years of training across the country. Instruction is extremely detailed and has helped me advance my knowledge. The training pushes you, but everyone on the mat has a humility and genuine love for their training partners that keeps rolling fun and enjoyable. You'll be hard pressed to find a better academy to learn, grow, and improve.

I started at Summus Jiu Jitsu a year ago and can honestly say it has one of the strongest and friendliest communities I have experienced in my 4 year career as a Jiu Jitsu practitioner. What I love the most about this academy is that I have seen a high degree of personal growth on and off the mat. Also, that I was able to grow along with others who push me to be better, support me, and have become genuine friends. The environment is welcoming and informative from the coaches that run the classes, to the newer members of the school. The facility in general is always clean and inviting for people who want to try out something fun and new that can improve their lives. Overall, I would highly recommend this school to anyone who would like to start their Jiu Jitsu journey, as well as to those who are more seasoned in the sport.

I’ve been to many gyms and trained with a lot of good people. I have to say that Summus is at the very top of my list. Not only is the culture very friendly and uplifting but all the coaches really enjoy what they do. The people are all very helpful and fun. My favorite part is how clean the gym is. I have been training at Summus Jiu Jitsu for approximately 9 months. Prior to joining Summus, I trained BJJ at another gym for roughly 1yr and when I left there, I struggled to find a place where I truly felt like I was a part of the “team”. From the day I walked onto the mats here, it’s like I have found my second home. Training classes are taught by certified coaches/professors that stem from a prestigious lineage of world class Jiu-Jitsu pioneers. The gym facility itself is extremely clean and bright with inviting features. The gym mentality is set by a positive and encouraging list of “core values” that everyone can use to navigate their lives with. I would strongly recommend this gym to anyone who is looking to better themselves in every aspect of life, not just self-defense.
