Getting the diagnosis of Autism in my son was a very confusing and scary time for our family. Being in a pandemic made this even harder on everyone. We are so thankful to have found All About The Journey, they have made the transition from in home ABA therapy to ABA theraphy at the center so smooth on us all. My son is showing so much progress in all areas of commutation. The therapists and staff are all so wonderful and really care about the children and their familes. I look forward each day to hearing about how well he did and all the adorable projects he brings home. I highly recommend this center!
I consider my family extremely lucky that we found All About The Journey for my son. He has grown so much since starting there a year and a half ago. And he has fun while being there which for me was so important. As his parents we have learned from every single person who works there. The staff and therapists are amazing. I am completely comfortable reaching out with questions or concerns and they work with us to address my sons needs and goals. When it comes to ABA I think you need to find the right place and people that fit your child and your family and All About the Journey was that for us.
Living in a world that is designed for nuerotypical brains is not always easy for our nuerodiverse family to navigate particularly when it comes to atmospheres of education and growth for our littles. Prior to this program, our daughter was enrolled in a local public school for an integrated experience. It was not integrated at all. It was a nuerotypical curriculum and atmosphere where nuerodiversity was only used as an example of what not to be or how not to act. I attempted to have the conversation with the school to address my daughters experience and was told by a by the principal that they “could not accommodate our daughters autism”. My mind and heart were blown away, not just because I’m a mother being told that my daughters spicy autistic self was to much to handle but that in the year 2020 a public school could not “accommodate” an autistic student who’s major difficulties involved being overstimulated and misunderstood which resulted in reactions that were not causing harms to others or herself but involved jumping, flapping and screeching…. With that experience on our heart we were hesitant on our search to find an atmosphere that is truly inclusive and meets our children’s needs defined by them. We are SO unbelievably grateful we found Mary Jo and her amazing program!! Her teams guidance, support, education and all around collective care have transformed our family’s lives forever but most importantly our children lives!!! They are not just “accepted” or “accommodated” as they are, they are loved as they are, right here and now and taught how to live a life worth living as they are! That’s all a parent could ask for, not to make us proud but to make themselves proud! The programs curriculum , safe loving atmosphere and passionate caring staff at All About the Journey do just that, teach the next generation how to make themself proud and equip them with all the tools to do just that! Wish we could rate this place a 10!! We love All About the Journey!!
