Paul Prendergast Karate

I cannot say enough positive things about Master Andrew, Sensei Steve and Sensei Kasch, about their professionalism, their dedication and commitment to their students, and the respect and discipline they have taught my son. They were able to bring out courage, strength and dedication out of him and we are extremely grateful to have Paul Pendergast karate as a second family.

We enrolled our son in PPK at just 3 years old. The instructors are all incredible! They’re all incredibly thorough, attentive and hands on, and it has made our son grow by leaps and bounds. He looks forward to his classes and it’s been extremely beneficial for our active boy. The lessons he’s learned through PPK have carried into home life and school, even helping him earn a Star Student award at school. As parents we not only appreciate the lessons our child is learning week over week, but the emails that are geared at parenting while leading extremely busy schedules. We all look forward to class now. Could never thank the staff enough.

When my husband passed away suddenly in October of 2020 we were obviously devastated. My complete focus became finding stable support and balance for my daughter Jane, who was 6 at the time. In my search to find somewhere I could bring her for support during the pandemic, I came across Paul Prendergast Karate. After speaking with Master Andrew, I immediately knew that this was a place that could provide the stability and structure she needed during this incredibly trying time. Their commitment to their students to help them develop discipline, perseverance, leadership skills and strength within a loving and positive environment was nothing more than a godsend. Having lost her father, it was so important to me that my daughter have strong male role models in her life. Master Andrew and Sensei Steve immediately embraced this role for her, and I can tell how much this means to her every time she walks through the door there. It has been incredible to watch her grow and develop in this environment. Sensei Kasch has also been fantastic in setting an example for a young girl to model. If you're just looking for a little fun for your kid, then any karate might do, but if you are looking for true family, fellowship and support, then there's no other place than Paul Prendergast Karate. I have no doubt that Jane will carry the experiences she has had and will continue to have here throughout the rest of her life.

Our son has been attending PPK for over a year now. Master Steve, Master Dave and their younger apprentices are amazing!

The morals and lessons they teach are not only valuable to our child, but to us parents as well.

If you are looking for a positive environment where individuals respect each other, you have found it.

I couldn’t have better things to say about this place and ALL of their employees!! We were having a difficult time with our 7 year old son. We had a meeting with the school about his behavior and social skills and I was just about ready to bring him to a child psychologist…when he was invited to go to Paul Prendergast Karate with a friend from school during buddy week. Our son LOVED it!!! And wanted more!! We were happy to sign him up for basic lessons (2 days a week, every week). A little over a month in and he has made a complete 180 with his behaviors at school. Ever since starting Karate lessons, he has improved, in EVERY aspect of life, and continues to constantly show more improvements!!
Just recently had a scheduled parent/teacher meeting…and the teacher sees a massive improvement in him!! He still has more to improve on, but I’m confident he will get there, especially with the help of Paul Prendergast Karate!
I can’t say enough great things about ALL of the instructors!! Master Andrew has been amazing with checking up on his progress inside and outside of Karate. They seem to be much more focused on building a complete, respectful person opposed to just teaching Karate.
Sensei Steve and Sansei Kasch are amazing with the kids!! They make the lessons so much fun for the kids, but are constantly teaching them life values and respect (and I don’t think the kids even realize they’re learning that at the time). Even the black belt assistants are amazing!! Mr Deckland and Mr JP…and anyone else I may have missed!!
Bottom line, this place is amazing!! It has completely turned my sons life around in such a great way. I’m so happy to see him so dedicated to it, enjoy it, and learn from it every time he goes!
If you’re looking for an activity for your kid, Karate may be the answer…and you can’t possibly go wrong with this place!!
I truly want to thank you all for everything you’ve done for Tyler!! You guys are simple amazing and we look forward to working with you for years to come!! Thanks again for all you do for my son and ALL of the kids. I can tell you all truly care about all of your students, almost like they are family!
