I was dependent on a very high dose of benzodiazepines and suffered a life-altering seizure, from withdrawal, in late April of 2020. For understandable reasons, my primary doctor and insurance left me with no option other than detox/rehab. This was during the frightening first wave of Covid in metro Boston. I was hesitant to go pre-coronavirus, and definitely didn't want to go then. My last option was to find a psychiatrist out of network. I called/emailed around 20 local psychiatrists and they all seemed too expensive or unhelpful. Felt hopeless. The next day I received a call from Dr. Toy, asking if I was okay and to let me know my case was potentially solvable. From what I'd read online, the tapering process seemed unbearable. It wasn't. He chose the perfect starting dose, and each reduction was hardly noticeable. Now, 7 months later, it's almost over. I don't wake up thinking about it or go to sleep needing it. He's also treated my anxiety/depression/ocd/adhd, and given me a second chance with my life/family. I never expected to make so much progress so quickly, and look forward to our monthly televisit. If you're looking for an addiction specialist, psychotherapist, or psychiatrist to help improve your mental/physical well-being, I'd highly recommend Dr. Ozan Toy.
