We think this old house (circa 1760) looks fabulous. Originally constructed by Deacon Andrew Hetfield, circa 1760, this house was expanded in stages to meet the needs of the Hetfield family during their 186-year occupancy. By 1830, a simple colonial farmhouse had been transformed into a center-hall Georgian residence.
The Mountainside Restoration Committee announces that the Deacon Andrew Hetfield House will be open to the public for tours on Sunday, March 15, 2020 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm. Visitors are invited to tour Mountainside's historic treasure which features a museum displaying Mountainside artifacts. The Mountainside Restoration Committee's MRC Estate Sales division conducted an outstanding Estate Sale, in the Elmora section of Elizabeth, NJ, to raise funds for the maintenance and restoration of the historic Deacon Andrew Hetfield House (circa 1760) and The Levi Cory House (circa 1818).
