  I feel so fortunate to have the Strat Academy to help me with all my guitar needs. Jimmy, the luthier is very good and intuitive. For nearly the same cost as a setup he will give you a lesson on how to do things yourself. They offer classes in guitar repair and guitar building. What a wonderful proprietorship. Friendly and nice to talk to. As long as they're around I would never go anywhere else.

  I had James work on two guitars that just would not stay in tune. The work accomplished was excellent and fairly priced. One of the guitars began to lose its tuning again. One call to Lisa and she said "bring it on back". I had my guitar fixed the very next day with no charge. I truly appreciate not having to go into Albuquerque and take business to a larger music store with high turnover. Both Lisa and James are very professional, AND personable. I appreciate that as this business trait is a rare find these days.

  I have been taking guitar and vocal lessons with Jimmy for about 9 months. My guitar playing and singing ability has increased drastically, all due to Jimmy's instructions. I have also taken all of my guitars to Jimmy for improvements and/or repair. I wouldn't take them anywhere else. Jimmy is a fantastic leuthier! Jimmy and Lisa are also very nice people. It is a pleasure to do business with them.

  My experience with StratAcademy has been exceptional. My only regret is that I didn't start taking lessons sooner. Lisa & Jimmy are complete professionals and have obviously worked hard to create an environment that is essential for learning.
  
  My ability to play music has increased significantly in what I would say is a short period of time. With Jimmy's instruction I have improved my technique, my understanding of how songs are structured, to include guitar theory that has really opened up a whole new world for me musically.
  
  On top of teaching me how to play guitar I also built a guitar under Jimmys guidance. What an experience!!! He is truly a master in the art of guitar building!!
  
  As a business StratAcademy has is figured out. They just do it right. If you do yourself a favor and start taking lessons with them you will realize this quickly.
  
  On a more personal note Jimmy and Lisa are amazing people. As much as I enjoyed guitar lessons I can honestly say being around Jimmy and Lisa and getting to know them has meant more to me. It was a pleasure guys. Best of luck in Texas!
