A little out of the way, but that's perfect. We went during the week so it wasn't very busy. Tubs were lovely, the grounds well kept and facilities were clean. Staff was friendly and helpful, especially in the gift shop/spa. There were also chickens and puppies- will definitely be back!
Absolutely one of the best spa resorts I've experienced. Includes hot spring mineral pools, private hiking trails, & yoga. The Blue Heron restaurant on site is delicious. The spa service selection & providers are top notch. Staff were very helpful & friendly. The surroundings are peaceful & the rooms are very comfortable. The atmosphere is very laid back - wonderful place to relax & recharge.
The resort is nice. I just did a private hot tub soak and a day pass. I'm pretty sure I was overcharged but I let it go.
It was a little weird to me that there was no staff to be found once you were on the grounds, and I thought the signage could have been better but I did appreciate the map. I felt that the food and drinks at the deli/Cafe were grossly overpriced, think $14 for a canned margarita and the veggie wrap was pre made and wrapped in plastic. I read that you can visit Sages and grab a cold one to enjoy poolside but you can't take alcohol outside with you.
I did appreciate the coolers of water at each pool area. My private hot tub was amazing. And the other pools on the property were really nice. Overall, it was a really nice, relaxing day. I hope I can make it back there.
The resort was nice. Adults only! We stayed in a casita, which was nice! Not $800 a night nice. Carpets were dirty and side of beds were water stained. No employees around the resort to help with anything. If you need anything, you gotta go find someone. For example extra towels or water. We stayed 4 nights and everyday it was the same. No one around to assist us. Steam room was dirty by the end of the day. Plus, overpriced spa services. I still gave it a 5 star because I would recommend going for the "adults only".... Restaurants on the resort were great and fairly priced. I wish I could say " can't wait to go back "
No probably not. Yet it was a nice girls trip.
This is a truly special place. If you're looking for that place that will truly make a lasting impression? This is it.
I will say that due to flight delays that are common today, we didn't get there until about 1AM and the drive in was a little strange with the narrow streets, lack of streetlights, just lack of a sense of anything really. Kind of creepy if you had asked.
Once we got to Ojo however, all of that changed. There isn't a 24 hour front desk like a normal hotel. They have a "care taker" who watches over the spa at night. He checked us in and showed us to our room without delay.
Entering the room, we saw that the pictures on their website are a great representation of what you get. We were in a Casita which are all located on the back side of the property. Super-nice. Fireplace, king sized bed.... Everything you could need to be comfortable.
In the morning light, once you get past the fact that you're next to a gravel driveway (no paved roads on the entire property, it's very dusty) which was truly no problem, it was time to explore. And there is plenty to explore.
It's too much to describe, go look at their website, like I said, it does do them justice.
The place has an almost other-worldly feel to it. There are a couple of places to get food on site, and both are inspired by local ingredients. Pretty good if I do say so. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, both in the restaurants and in the spa.
Speaking of the spa, very, very nice. We'll appointed seating/quiet areas and a very nice feel to it in general.
It's no wonder this place is on the list of top places to go... It's a must... Even if you don't have a reason. We'll, you don't need a reason to pamper yourself do you?
