“TIME...My own time. This is the ONLY reason I have given this office only 4 stars and not 5. Here's the "straight skinny" so-to-speak: As one without personal transportation, I arrived at the DHS office as early as possible, signing in at 0912 am. I noticed then that there were 2 clients ahead of me. We each had tickets signifying the numerical order for assistance. There were several windows present but only one single window open. The building echoes, and the staff can be heard very clearly from the lobby. The ladies DID seem to take care not to speak to one another about clients, which I appreciated --. but, they did talk and laugh amongst each other about favorite TV shows, and things likely not pertaining to the job at hand. This normally wouldn't have peeved me at all--I'm glad they all seemed to get along! Joy is GOOD. However, I was incredibly stressed out that morning, again, not normal for me. I was pressed for time and worried about my concern (the reason for my visit).Thus, waiting there, listening to staff giggling whilst only one window was open and so few clients were present--was a little irritating. Finally, at 0948, I was called to the window. I was incredibly relieved to have my questions answered and addressed --including receiving needed documents right then. The staff was pleasant and efficient, which I very much appreciated. I signed out of the office at 0958. All in all, the experience was better than many I've had with DHS, but it could have been MUCH quicker in my opinion. I can't be the only stressed and anxious client that comes to the office for help! So ladies, please, just quickly take care of the 3 clients you have--THEN you guys can giggle all you want--I mean seriously now, who doesn't love a good joke...right??”
