The Dr was also extremely kind, patient, and very helpful. I was also impressed with the location. Low traffic is a must for me when it comes to my dogs. “This was our first time here and I will be back! Our little Dachshund mix was scratching like crazy and also needed some vaccines so I decided to give this place a try. They were very friendly and professional and also pretty reasonably priced. We got our little guy on some medication and are awaiting some lab results to see what we can do to stop the itch. Very pleased with my first experience here and if all goes well with the next visit I will be switching to this place for good! *Update*: our little dachshund mix is all fixed up! No more scratching! They also took care of our cattle dog mix that broke his toenail. They got is in very last minute and fixed him up for a very reasonable price. So happy with this place!”

“Dr. Abernathy is amazing! We originally took our dog to a different Vet to get him check for a growth under his thigh. The Vet told us that it could be cancer and they needed to do a biopsy. We did the biopsy and they couldn't give us a definite answer and suggested removal. The quote they gave us was for $1200!!! We wanted to get it removed right away but didn't have that kind of money on hand. We decided to wait a couple months to save up but in the meantime got a second opinion from Sunrise and what a pleasant surprise! Dr. Abernathy said he didn't think it was cancer but also suggested removal to the tune of $350!!! We scheduled the appointment the following week and the growth never came back. Dr. Abernathy is so great with dogs and very reasonably priced IMO. He genuinely cares about his animals and we will never go elsewhere as long as he is in business!”

“I had to take my one-and-a-half a half year old Razors Edge blue pit bull into Ponderosa Animal Clinic due to the fact that a man ordered his Pitbull to attack my pitbull just to see a dog fight while my kids were at a dog park that they frequent due to the fact that it's close to our house. Before moving to the area & visiting the dog park regularly, our dog has never been in a fight Noir did he barely even bark 'cuz he's never even been around other dogs until we moved to this neighborhood. Due to the fact that my two children were in a company of my dog at this time thankfully our dog did what he is supposed to do and protected my children unfortunately my children told me that the other dog lost the fight in their opinion because she was injured severely. Which is something that upset my children to see something so graphic done onto another animal my dog had a small lesion on his left cheek which didn't seem very bad at the time. 2 days later we noticed that it begin to swell so I Googled affordable clinics in Albuquerque New Mexico that's when I found Ponderosa. I am so grateful to the staff they were very friendly and helpful to my family and I felt like not only did they truly care about the well-being of my dog but also that of my family my dog was well taken care of for a very reasonable price if I had not found this Clinic I would had to pay over $1,000 That's not including the prescription for antibiotics and ointment that they gave me I only ended up paying about $300 that's for the examination treatment and prescription all together. Once again thank you Ponderosa Animal Clinic and I will be back if I ever have a veterinarian issue with any of my animals and I will highly recommend this veterinarian to anyone who is looking for a reasonable price and great Veterinarian Service”

Minus the extra trip to the hair supply store, I only waited 2 hours for it to get done. Cynthia my hair braider was professional, courteous, and her attention to detail amazing.
