The Alexander is great place to live and I’m hoping to continue living here for as long as possible. There are some disappointments though.
When I lived here between 2016 and 2017 there was no charge for parking. Now there is a $65 parking fee but nothing has changed in the parking lot. There is no added security or assigned parking.
I moved back here in 2021 and I just started my 3rd lease in a row. With the new lease they included managed wifi. After days of troubleshooting, I arranged for Spectrum to come out and figure out why the wifi had connectivity issues. The device was installed months ago and had to be reconfigured before I could connect anything to it. I was connected to the neighbors’ wifi. The Alexander is charging $80 per month included in the lease for wifi vs the $50 I was paying before. But not only they didn’t inform me that I would not be able to connect anything to the wifi until Spectrum reconfigured the new device but they also ignored my work order to send help and the 2 emails I sent asking for help.
And lastly, months ago I informed them a few times about an issue with one of the glass entrance doors but it’s still not fixed.
I very much enjoy the amenities, social event, staff and community aspect. When I first moved here from another state, the staff was welcoming. They recommended places to shop, restaurants and things to do in town. It was tremendously helpful in adjusting to Albany, NY.
This is a great place to live if you are looking for a place with amenities and community activities. The Alexander is complete with an indoor pool, a fitness center, and a dog park. I especially love all the fun activities they host like the Halloween party, trivia, and candle making. The staff is very friendly and always want to make your experience as a resident better.
If you are looking for a place to live in Albany, NY, I highly recommend touring the Alexander at Patroon Creek. For over a year, I have enjoyed living at this property and can truly say that it is one of the nicer housing options in the area. The building is very pet-friendly and has a nice dog park on the property. Additionally, the staff in the leasing office hosts fun community activities (e.g., candle-making, bingo, and holiday gift-wrapping station) and is very responsive to inquiries and maintenance requests. While the hallways are quiet, there is a nice sense of community thanks to the dog owners in the building and friendly leasing and maintenance staff. 10/10 would recommend to a friend!
