I don't live in or near Albany. However, after my graduation from Sage College, I checked the reviews and recommendations for a restaurant my family and I could dine in following the ceremony. Cafe Italia had many positive reviews, and I made a reservation two weeks before graduation for a party of six. The venue is intimate, with fresh linen and seating, which can be arranged to accommodate different size parties. Our waiter and the entire staff, including the owners, were professional, warm, and friendly. With that said, the food and service were exceptional and reasonably priced. My party members ordered different menu items, including our cocktails, which was excellent. The owner, who apparently has high standards and good taste, even recommended restaurants near where I lived to visit. I highly recommend Caffe Italia!
SENSATIONAL. From the beginning, the staff was super friendly and attentive. The bread and oil was delicious and had a bit of a crunch and heat to it. We ordered two Peroni beers and they brought out chilled glasses for them (amazing). For start, our meals came with a soup or salad. I got a salad with the tomato basil dressing and it was THE BEST salad dressing I've ever had. He mentioned several other dressings and they all sounded home-made so this felt no different. My boyfriend got the soup of the day, which was a seafood chowder. I tried it and it was AMAZING. I'm not normally a chowder person, but this was nice and thin and creamy, not too thick. I got the lobster ravioli which was absolutely stellar. It tasted home made to me and I'm convinced it was. If not, they got it from the best distributor around. My boyfriend got the chicken francese and it was, to quote him, "twice as good as the best francese I've ever had". The place is very small, so reservations are definitely recommended. We won't be eating any other Italian place. This was amazing.
My absolute favorite place to satisfy my craving for Italian dishes. They do everything great - from the service to the food & drinks!
Caffè Italia
Best Italian food in the region! 🤤
I was invited here from a friend who haven’t been here for a while. we ordered our food and everything was very good and I really enjoyed the delicious Italian taste and conversation with my friend.
My five star ⭐️ for this place is inly for taste and chef’s 👨🍳
Few things need to improve for this restaurant;
• There’s no parking 🅿️ for this restaurant and you have to find spot on the street, and unfortunately street parking isn’t available all the time.
• menu needs improvement, they had especial menu for Friday but wasn’t on the table and explained by servers.
• price on the menu isn’t reasonable and dessert menu wasn’t available.
• interior design of restaurant is so basic, if you are serving a delicious Italian taste at your place you must present Italian atmosphere.
Fingers crossed for improvement🤞
What a surprise. Such an incredible restaurant in an area of Central Avenue not known for dine dining.
The chef takes pride in their dishes. The food was fantastic and didn't take as long as you'd expect from what clearly was from-scratch dinners.
We were seated quickly on a Friday without a reservation (party of 3). Upon being seated, we were immediately served hot, fresh bread and a dish of oil and seasoning.
The prices were a tad higher than expected, but the service and experience was well worth it.
No parking lot, but it wasn't difficult to find on-street spots relatively close by.
