You can never go wrong with Fairfield especially when you are traveling. The staff were super friendly. One of the staff even went above and beyond to offer my kids fruity loops for the continental breakfast.
Hospitality was amazing. All staffs are very friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean and a-lot of parking space available. Breakfast is above average and gets refilled multiple times. Rooms are clean and quiet.
The room was clean and spacious. The hotel itself seems clean and relatively modern. There's a computer room and a gym, both looked nice and well-kept. The only complaint was breakfast. We got there at 9 and although it supposedly ended at 10, there was (almost literally) no food left. Staff at the buffet told us they stopped refilling at 9, which seemed odd. There was a dining room full of people (Parent's weekend at Albany University) who were all disappointed. At 9:30, I decided to complain to someone else at the desk and a few minutes later, food started to be refilled.
The AC in my room kept cycling on and off all night long. I could not get it to blow air continuously, which was aggravating. But I only had to stay one night. If I had to stay longer, I definitely would have complained. Also, the bathtub was dangerously curved on the bottom on both sides and very slippery. The shower curtain liner was like 5 inches too long, pooling at the bottom of the tub. I don't know how I survived that shower without falling (thank goodness for the grab bar). PLEASE install hand-held shower heads. It's barbaric to have fixed shower heads in this day and age (in my opinion). The tub kept stopping up as well.
Other than these few issues, my short stay was pleasant. The free breakfast was really good with many options to choose from. Staff at the front desk were nice, and the hotel and my room seemed clean and tidy.
