Sage-Femme Midwifery

After having an awful hospital birth with my first that resulted in an unnecessary c-section, I knew that I wanted a different experience with our second. Being a VBAC mama I was finding it hard to find a team that would care for and listen to me without pushing a repeat c-section. My husband found Sage-Femme Midwifery and I’m so glad we decided to trust them with our care. Right from the beginning they were amazing. I always felt like everyone on the team cared for me and listened to everything I had to say. They made me feel comfortable and confident to birth outside of the hospital setting. They were also extremely accommodating with appointments and gave me a place to birth in their “birth bnb” because we lived in Rochester. I will always recommend Kelly, Kristen, and their team. The 3 hour drives for appointments and to give birth were absolutely worth it and I would do it again. Thank you to everyone at Sage-Femme; I couldn’t have done it without you!

My wife had a natural home birth with Kelly 6 months ago conveniently upstairs in their birth-apartment. From the relaxed appointments, and the actual care Kelly took to help us deal with anything from feeling stressed to hearing the baby's heartbeat, the experience was one of a kind. Never in our dreams did we think we could give birth the way we did, but then we found Sage Femme. I couldn't be more amazed by the way Kelly delivered our baby, and of course my wife was incredible too. Thank you for everything, we now have the healthiest & happiest baby and we couldn't be more grateful for our birth story.

So grateful for these wonderful women. My first child was born in the hospital intervention-free with a midwife and a doula, but many parts of the experience didn't live up to my expectations. Unfortunately that's just the way that goes. My second child was born early 2020 at home with Kristen and Hannah and lived up to all our expectations and more. Ask all your questions, and then let these birth professionals support you in your choices and desires. The postpartum and newborn care Kristen provided was phenomenal. My husband and I were both very impressed with the actual birth and how smoothly everyone functioned (everyone but the birthing mother of course lol). These women have gobs of experience. My husband works at Albany Med and said the equipment used was all up to date and the same brands they use at the hospital. If I have another, no thinking needed, it will be another homebirth with sage femme!
