This place is a hole in the wall dive bar. Super suspect atmosphere, but their food is legit. Had the blackened chicken, with sauteed peppers and onions, American cheese, lettuce, and tomato- YUM. Not for those who don't like a little heat. My husband had a burger, which he really enjoyed. My kids had a chicken quesadilla and they loved it. We didn't eat there- not a place is like to stay but I'd order again.

The hubby and I enjoyed a great Sunday lunch at Build a Burger yesterday. A fun, "dive bar " type atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing (and delicious) Sunday date.
We sat at the bar and our waitress (I feel terrible that I have forgotten her name) was so friendly and spunky, singing along to the music, answering our questions, and clearly loving her job.
Now, onto the food. First off, we ordered Way Too Much. These portions are not to be taken lightly- they are serious portions for serious eaters. Mozzarella sticks were the only "regular" sized item (5, just about perfect for sharing). The loaded fries (see picture below) needed at least one other couple to help us finish them. So worth it though - gooey melted cheddar and lots of (really good) bacon, served with sour cream.
Now, onto the burgers. We each had a sheet to fill out, checking off which toppings we would like to add as well as the temperature of our burger. This is also where you can select another protein (pulled pork or chicken for example). So many options!
As soon as they arrived and were placed in front of us, I knew I was in trouble. I had eaten too much of the appetizers!
Seriously, though, it was so good! Melted cheese, shredded lettuce, fried onions. The patty is thin - like a smash burger - so next time I would step down to medium from medium well, as it was still just a touch too done for me (totally my mistake though and didn't affect the experience at all).
I travel a lot and haven't seen other places offering this unique customizable experience.
Oh, and bonus, we paid in cash, so they gave us back $6 in "store cash" to use for food on our next visit.
If you haven't been, I suggest you round up at least a few people to help share all off the food and try it out. I think Tuesday nights there might also be some kind of promotional mug night for drinks?
Overall, I can't recommend this place enough!

I recently visited Build a Burger Club and was pleasantly surprised by the experience. While the exterior may not be fancy, the interior atmosphere and vibes are on point! The employees were friendly and attentive, creating a welcoming environment. And let’s talk about the burgers, they were absolutely delicious! I highly recommend visiting Build a Burger Club for a memorable dining experience that combines great food and a fantastic ambiance.

A bit disappointed in light of all the really good reviews.

The steakburgers decent quality, fairly large (8oz), fries are fresh and fountain beverages are served in miniature pitchers .

Otoh, the menu is very limited and the dining area is plain run down. Limited burger toppings.
    Gravy on fries tasted canned.

Albany is full of places to get good burgers, and plenty of pubs with bigger menus and better food.

I paid $24+5 tip . That's two meals at five guys.

Place is ok, but nothing to write home about IMO.

Came to the area on business trip and found this local pub. I'm always down for a burger. When I arrived the hostess/waitress was very welcoming. The music was alittle loud which made it hard to hear her.I was the only one there at the time. I ordered the special which was the double grilled cheese burger. Two grilled cheese sandwiches were the buns. Also ordered Buffalo chicken Mac & cheese. Overall really good experience.
