I love coming here. The service is always quick and friendly, and the food is amazing. I typically get the 2 protein bowl, and it lasts me two meals. The options for proteins, sauces, toppings, etc. are plentiful, and there is something for everyone here. That being said, I would look at the options before coming here. If there are only 1-4 things you enjoy, the bowl will not be as full, and the price is not as justified. I almost always get white & brown rice with seasoning, salmon and spicy tuna, house soy, edamame, crab mix, seaweed salad, carrot, cucumber, avocado, spicy mayo, eel sauce, nori, masago, and sesame seeds. Any of their canned juices are delicious as well. Definitely consider giving this place a try if a lot of the options appeal to you.
Freaking amazing Sushi and Asian food. You can make a bowl with all kinds of protein including raw ahi tuna and it was amazing, but they also have cooked chicken for the bowls if you don't like raw stuff. It's a super tasty healthy concept. I made a bowl with a lot of good salad stuff and dressings and everything tasted really fresh. And the cooked dumplings were really good too.
I was there at a quiet time, which allowed me to really think about what I wanted in my bowl. I decided to go with the medium bowl, which is 2 scoops.
The base I chose was mixed salad and zoodles. My proteins were the Ahi tuna and salmon with the Garlic Ponzu sauce. 😋 My sides were carrot, chickpeas, Cilantro, crab mix ($1 extra), cucumber, edamame, jalapeño, radish, seaweed salad ($1 extra). The sauce for that level of goodness was garlic airlines. Toppings were almonds, crispy wonton, ginger, scallions, shredded nor, Sunflower seeds, and wasabi. Tammy was very helpful with my decisions. She showed me a lot of patience. I was so happy with my lunch that I also brought home the avocado sesame and garlic chicken summer rolls. Both very good. I highly recommend going to the Poke Bar.
Casual dining... order at the counter and seat yourself or take it to go.
The staff seems friendly and the environment feels relaxed.
Quantity and quality of poke bowls has been variable. Previous order was too low on quantity, but everything was fresh and tasty. More recent meal was beautifully put together (and was a perfect amount of food), but the tuna had gone bad and a couple of bites was room temperature.
My guess is that there are tubs of raw fish left exposed to air, so when they aren't super busy, the fish quickly gets less edible. Thankfully this did not affect anything else in the bowl and so I picked out the tuna and ate the rest, no problem.
So desperate for a good poke bar at this price range to order regular lunches, that ill definitely try it again... but hopefully the quality of the raw fish will get fresher, or it'll have to be grilled chicken and tofu from here on out.
I picked the Loudonville bowl with: brown rice, spicy shrimp and crab, avocado, spicy mayo, scallions, and hot Cheetos (usually has cucumber but I opted out for that). It was really delicious, and the staff being friendly and understanding it was a new experience for my boyfriend who accompanied me.
