The Edge Skate Sharpening & Profiling

I did the research in advance. There is a reason why more than 600 hockey players and a significant number of college hockey teams throughout the northeast regularly rely on Edge Skate Sharpening & Profiling. Ron is a passionate master at his craft, one of only two technicians certified nationally to work with the Swiss made sharpening equipment he employs in his business. I am not a hockey player but rather a returning skater. I appreciate fine workmanship and the quality produced that is clearly evident the moment I step on the ice. The fitting service is amazing, the sharpening and profiling of the blade is equally amazing. My 2010 son outgrew his skates and when we replaced them I didn't feel the new skates were right. I needed to have his new skates profiled and several people suggested The Edge including my son's skating instructors. I talked to Ron about my concerns and he fit him properly without relying on a machine. He was able to get us into the skate I originally wanted and ensured the correct fit.
Ron even rushed my son a pair of profiled blades to his skating lesson. He stayed and made sure my son was comfortable with everything. We'll be customers for life. I've been playing hockey for years and even worked in the industry and I have never seen someone so passionate about what he does. My son's skates fit like a glove and the smile on his face says it all. Thanks Ron!!!

Ron was recommended - and he hasn't dissapointed

So my prep school aged skater was getting new skates, and told me about a teammate of his who has been working with Ron for a couple of seasons on his blades. Our initial call with Ron lasted 43 minutes!!!! I had to take a screen shot and send it to that father. I thought that I knew a little bit, but realized that I was beginning to work with someone who was very passionate.

Fast forward to a few frantic calls with Ron as my son had to use his new blades sooner than he would have liked. He broke a blade, and then had to use a new profiled set from The Edge during an important hockey weekend. After skating twice on those blades, my son was still not sold on the change. Started having conversations about using someting else. So a few more frantic calls to Ron, and I began to wonder if I had made the correct choice.

Tonight I am writing this review after Ron came out to meet my son in the greater Boston area with his skating coach. A little reassurance from both individuals, and then comparing different sets of blades, my son came away with a better understanding about what was happening. And I came away blown away at the customer service and Ron's singular desire to ensure that my son was happy and was able perform.

EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE. I wish everyone I deal with was this committed to their craft. Ron did not disappoint and I look forward to working with him for many year's to come.

We have been with Ron since he opened. I did a ton of research before I dipped my toe into custom profiling. With that said, my son really started to hold edges better, have better acceleration and glide speed, and have more confidence on the ice. The consistency is key, the feel is the same no matter what set of blades he is on because they machine cut the same. The better steel allows sharpening to last longer. Ron has exceptional service and makes sure your kid(s) is/are comfortable confident and ready to go.
