Winter Glen Farm

I give four stars only because boarding is never perfect, but I had a good experience here overall. Very knowledgeable horse people and very good riding instructors. The boarders pretty much keep an eye out for all horses. Nobody hesitates to call an owner if something seems off with your horse. Both the vet and the farrier are there just about every week. So depending on the issue, there is immediate attention without an individual vet call bill. And it's a really nice atmosphere. Nicest horse people I've met since i moved to the area. My best boarding experience by far. I only left because i bought a house and moved my horses home.

Winter Glen has a diverse group of riders. Younger and older teens, Younger and, older adults (me included). Peggy has been training for over 40 years. Other instructors have been doing so for 20 or more. The horses are well cared for. Riders are allowed to groom and care for them-one of the perks of riding as far as I'm concerned! We ride all year long (indoor ring), which is great to get rid of the winter doldrums

I came to Winter Glen Farm a little over 2 years ago a little nervous about getting back into riding. Trainers Peggy, Jill, and Paige brought the joy of riding back into my life with the help of the great lesson horses at the farm. Last summer I showed all over the capital region with Winter Glen and it was a BLAST! Great atmosphere and great people. Peggy (Manager and Union College Equestrian Coach) has over 40 years of experience in riding, training, coaching and stable management. Paige has taught for almost 20 years and has trained several CDHJC hunter final winners.
