It was perfect and a great experience. They are great about not being pushy but rather taking time with everyone to make sure you will love what you purchase. The maintenance plan makes keeping everything protected and looking like new easy. The entire staff is always very friendly and accommodating when we drop off and pick up. “I’ve loved Ten Thousand Villages since my mom got me a beautiful hand carved bowl from one for Hanukkah in my early twenties. The selection of goods made by makers all over the world is always superb and the ideology of bringing these goods here for consumption and paying the makers a living wage is something I can get behind. We are a slow movement family and buy a lot of items second hand due to environmental concerns, so when we do purchase new items, it is with serious thought and intent surrounding the social and environmental impacts of those items. When I come here, I know that I am supporting small makers from all over the world and our family is proud of that. “Despite visiting Albany many times in the last few years, this was the first time I had visited The Spinning Room - and I absolutely loved it!! I went about 45 mins before closing and didn't feel at all rushed or like I was being pushed out of the shop; the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and they had actually engaging conversation about what type of craft I do, yarns I use, what I make, etc. It is such a homey feeling shop and despite preparing for the upcoming Rhinebeck festival, they were fully stocked!
