“Been here NUMEROUS times - and we still stop every time we are in Ellicottville. First time I was like, "Really, socks?" I rolled my eyes and went in with the rest of my group - expected it to be lame and uninteresting - and boy was I wrong. Now every time we go I wonder what the next addition to my sock drawer will be. Something crass? Nervy? Funny? They also have bamboo selections for comfort as well as foot odor control. We think it's just a fun, cool, quirky place to patronize- with something for every individual. So wander in and find something!”

“This shop has history! It’s been a leader in the WNY snowboard scene for a long time. Family owned and operated (by great Ellicottville locals), The Boardroom truly has only gotten better with age. Whether you’re looking for men’s, women's or kid’s gear, chances are there’s something you’re looking for. They carry top level, quality brands but make sure to have a variety of price points so you don’t have to break the bank if you don’t want to. From a hardgoods standpoint, The Boardroom only sells snowboard equipment. But the clothing is universal for riders and skiers alike. You can also rent boards and alpine skis there (no cross country skis). It’s always great to go into a shop where the stoke for snowboarding is evident. So no matter if you’re just looking to start riding or you’ve ridden for a long time, you’ll walk out of the shop excited to get on snow.”

“I found myself passing through Ellicottville on a tire that was rapidly losing air (as a result of driving over a huge threaded nail). I was mildly panicked thinking about how I’d make it the 90 miles home on a Friday night when I was directed by a nice man who I met in a parking lot to try to make it up the road to EVL. I called at a few minutes after 5 (when I knew they’d likely be closing) and was told to stop in and they’d look to see if they could fix it. 20 minutes later I had a fixed flat and was able to make it home after a long week and a lot of driving on unfamiliar roads through unfamiliar towns. I couldn’t thank them enough for staying late to help a stranger driving through. I appreciated their service and kindness more than they’ll ever know. It reminded me there are good people willing to help when you need them most.”

“After traveling 2 hours, I arrived at Holiday Valley for a wedding only to discover that I mistakenly brought a suit that fit me about 20 lbs ago. While the selection among men's clothes is spare, I was able to find two virtually new dress slacks that fit without alteration. The owner was helpful in determining which pair would go best with my jacket, shirt, and tie. She kindly steamed out the few wrinkles, and at a very reasonable price, I was soon on my way.
