Provides an Amazing service for Aaron’s.inc keeps us in the loop would recommend to anyone
Great folks that took care of my issues with my jeep at a great price. Friendly and knowledgeable staff who will share their concerns with your vehicle if they see something needed fixed.
I am an over-the-road trucker, and I have been criss-crossing the United States for over 20 years. I would have to say that in all my years on the road, these guys provided the best customer service experience I've ever encountered anywhere. Just real nice friendly folks. :)
I did a pre-trip inspection on my semi truck this morning, and discovered I had a flat tire. Because it costs about $300 for a road service vehicle to come out, I decided to limp the 80 miles to their shop. I found them on truckdown.com, and had no idea if they were any good or not.
Needless to say, they exceeded all of my expectations, save for one. I will address that one issue at the end of this review.
It is blitz week, when DOT inspectors at the scales routinely pull in every truck for inspections, for a 7-Day period every year. It is insanely hard to get any work done on a truck during this week, because every trucker is getting last minute work done, so they can avoid problems with the DOT. I had been to seven different truck stops a few days earlier, trying to get another flat tire repaired.
So, when I rolled into their shop, I wasn't expecting to get work done right away. It was a very pleasant surprise when they told me to immediately back up to a door. In the shop, I was surprised again. A very nicely furnished lounge, with free chocolate and a Keurig coffee machine. :0
I had a nice conversation with Rick about his service in the Air Force, and with Tina about her time as an over-the-road trucker, before she settled down at this company.
The shop did a fantastic job, fixed my tire expertly, and even gave my dog Lucy a biscuit for the road! :0
I would highly recommend this shop to anyone wanting to get service done on their car or semi truck. These are great people who take pride in their work. I believe they work on all makes, but are Ford diesel specialists. They even offered me some advice on resurrecting a dead diesel F-250 pickup I have sitting in my yard. Unfortunately, my yard is in Knoxville, Tennessee, or I would definitely have them work on it. :). Heck, I might end up throwing my pickup on a flatbed, hauling it to Falconer, NY, and having them work on it anyway. ;) They are that good!
So, why did I give them four, instead of five stars?
Price. I was a little surprised by the bill. As I mentioned above, I had an identical flat tire repair done a few days ago, at a name brand truck stop. The bill was literally less than a third of what I was charged at this shop. I was expecting to pay somewhere between 50 and $100, and it was significantly more than that. Later, I called the shop and asked them to break down the bill for me. They were very courteous, and explained that I had been charged a drive-in fee. I've never encountered this before. Evidently, they had to take one of their technicians off a repair in progress, so that they could get me back on the road as quickly as possible. I appreciate that, but I would have liked to have been notified about that beforehand. I still saved a lot of time and money over what it would have cost, had I waited for a mobile repair service, but I paid a lot more than I would have, had I got the repair done at a truck stop chain. Then again, I probably would have had to wait a very, very long time, and would not have had anywhere near as good a customer service experience.
To sum up, I greatly enjoyed meeting the people who work at this place, and I'm very satisfied with their work. I would use them again for any kind of truck repair, but probably not for tire repair, because of the aforementioned drive-in fee.
Maybe this is a common thing in New York state? I don't know. I would recommend this place to any of my trucker friends, but would counsel them to ask about the drive-in fee first. That way, there would be no unpleasant surprises. If not for that fee, I would have given this shop more than five stars. Maybe seven or eight stars. :)
