Straight out the Boot

On the way back to Rochester after going to the reservation and saw this place.
Good food, great waitress and we met one of the owners named Cory who also cooks.
Very satisfied, reasonable prices. We both had the battered fish fry. We will be back!

My husband and I stopped in the other day. The food was good however I do have a few critiques. I got the grilled chicken salad which was very fresh and a decent size. The chicken was on the bland side for me and it didn’t seem to be grilled at all which I was looking forward to. My husband got the Jambalaya he loved it! I however felt like it was lacking slightly in seasoning and spiciness. We got the Brussels sprouts & fried pickles to share they were good. Last we got 5 chicken wings each to try I got plain and my husband got hot they were very good. And this may not be important to too many people but their tap water was very good and the lemon wedges they gave me in my water was fresh and a nice big slice.The cook and waitresses were very nice and accommodating, over all it was a pleasant experience.

We've been by there a lot and the other day we took a chance and tried it, no regrets... It was fantastic, the food was great, the waitress and chef was super nice... We're definitely going back... My new favorite diner....

We were making a six hour drive home from vacation and decided to stop here for dinner. The staff was so friendly and attentive, the food was delicious, and it was a fun atmosphere. My only regret is not saving room for ice cream!

After driving home from Medina NY my husband and I decided to stop for lunch at the Straight out the boat in Oakfield NY. Oh how I miss Cajun food! What joy we had when the Chef took time out to chat about New Orleans and Louisiana with us!! And yes Chef we hope to make it to the jazz festival this year in New Orleans. We both order the catfish platter which came with asparagus and rice..Thank you Chef for making the dirty rice for me. Delicious. Catfish with the lemon sauce was perfect. Dirty rice was delicious and how I remembered it was made in the south!! And asparagus scrumptious. On the way out I spied the peanut butter pie in the tarts! I had to have one!!( I'm on a diet.... but the tarts are at the right size) the best peanut butter pie I've had in years!! Wish we bought more. The light beer I chose for lunch was ice cold and delicious. And PS thank you for the extra sauce you accompanied for me to take home with the leftovers. So happy my husband and I found Straight off the boat. See you next time. Hopefully in the warmer weather for a outdoor shrimp boil.
