Beautiful place to visit in the Thousands Island region of the St. Lawrence River. The area can be extremely busy in the summer season. Beautiful architecture you just don't see many other places in this country. Much more accessible place to visit if you have access to a boat but there are tour boats as well.
This is a beautiful castle with a very sad story. While walking around the Heart Island , you can feel how great is the effort in building this castle and also to keep it as a museum grade attraction. Thanks for all the people who worked behind the scene. This is a place that I always want to go back to visit again. I enjoyed the 1000 Island cruises too !
First visit to the Castle. My family really enjoyed touring the Castle. The castle is well maintained. You can download the Boldt Castle app for audio guided tour. Spent an hour on the Island. But I think it's not sufficient. If you want to explore entire Island comfortably you will need at least 2.5 hours.
This was the first time to visit the area coming from the south US and going into Canada. Getting the tickets was quick but a bit complicated on which one to get. The girl at the window was good to help us out understand the differences. The boat ride was quick and smooth. The island itself was gorgeous. My family and I spent 1 hour there and it was too short. You can spend the entire day until 5 or so for the same price. The building are gorgeous and the history very interesting. I definitely recommend doing this and spend more than just one hour here.
This place was so amazing! The castle is being restored and much has, but there are rooms that they have left to show the progress, which is very interesting.
Boat tour over was fun as well, lots of cool things to see...
Highly recommend this one to see while in the area.
