Fabulous place for a day full of fun. My son is 13 and we visited for his 9 year old cousin's birthday party. We didn't think he'd have much to do, but he spent hours here. Something for everyone. Rochester is truly fortunate to have such a place locally. Family friendly. Restaurants on site.
We had a blast there! Kids loved every moment. There are areas like the arcade that require tokens which are 4/$1. They have a food court in there but only one restaurant and the ice cream shop were open. Bill Grey's is also in there. Can't wait to see what happens when they finish their expansion. Will definitely be going again.
Butterfly garden is definitely worth it. So much more than just butterflies, and the controlled environment is really cool. Please don't let your kids run around unsupervised though. Its dangerous.
As for the rest of the museum, WOW! So much to do and so much to see here! We spent nearly the entire day here and I dont think we even saw everything. All the exhibits are so fun and interactive. It was like walking into a segment of my childhood. I thoroughly enjoyed the sesame Street exhibit and particularly Elmo's room! There's a dizzy sideways room that's a lot of fun as well. Just so many activities to do and see! Don't hesitate, just go!
We've been members in the past and rejoined now that my son is a little older as the museum has the best selection of arcade and pinball games in town. Great to bring him and a friend to play some games, learn a few things, and see the butterfly room, which is a highly recommended experience. The ropes course adds a whole new dimension and completes the incredible value. My only complaint is they need to fill the food court with more options. The vacancy is glaring.
This museum is a perfect place to go, it doesn’t matter if you are young or if you are older. It has all the history of all the games we’ve been using growing up.
The museum is super clean and organized. It has a lot of activities that you can do including the observatory and the ticket machines that you can play on.
I’ve been there twice and I really enjoyed the college nights they would do. It was amazing to learn and enjoy it with people from your school or same age.
