Amsterdam Police Department

When you call, they come. Traffic accidents, domestic feuds, and noise complaints. If there's not an immediate emergency, don't bother with 911, just call the department and file your report. Only took 10 minutes for an officer to show up and clear out some offenders I reported, most of that time was probably the office dispatching from the department down the way. Thank you.

I saw some very suspicious behavior at a local restaurant and I called the Amsterdam Police Department and the dispatcher took my call seriously and transferred me to the Sheriff's Department. I am grateful that she was compassionate and did not dismiss my suspicion as silly or unfounded. I am very grateful to her.

I am amsterdam native,living in Florida.,..I have great respect for Amsterdam's police force...especially in work done in drug field....Chief Ed McGillin was once chief of police...thank you all for your serviceS UP GOOD WORK
