Went last minute for the High Holidays and was welcomed with open arms. Hidden gem of a place with a fantastic Rabbi and Cantor. Great service and warm congregation. Highly recommend!
Having been a member at a reform congregation for many years, I was disappointed with the change in leadership. Just didn't do anything for me spiritually. My fiance met the Rabbi at a funeral, and said that although this Rabbi was the leader of a conservative synagogue, I might find what I was looking for. Lo and behold! He was right! Rabbi Huberman and Cantor Gustavo are without a doubt the best! The Rabbi's e-sermons are phenomenal. The Cantor's soothing voice brings me a sense of calm. Together they have brought about the sense of belonging I was looking for. And to my surprise, their approach is not the conservative style I was accustomed to. They make it clear this is a pluralistic synagogue; all are welcome. I have become addicted to Friday night services! In addition, the members of the synagogue are very welcoming and the adult education programs are many - especially during Covid. The clergy and the program chairs have worked hard to keep everyone engaged. I am impressed by the number of families who belong as well as the fact that there are members from other parts of North America! This is a growing congregation. I highly recommend joining a Friday night service in person or even on zoom. I think you will find yourself humming the tunes long after this musical service has ended for the night.
We have belonged to 4 synagogues and can wholeheartedly say this is the most welcoming, warm, and comforting place to worship. Everyone is made to feel comfortable regardless of their level of observance. Our amazing rabbi and wonderful cantor are always looking to provide unusual “outside the box” programs and ways to worship, connect, and help the larger community as well. Also extremely important is that they are always there for people in times if need. A wonderful community!
CTI is an amazing community. It is welcoming to everyone. My favorite is the Friday night Kabbalah Shabbat services, that I can, again, be part of. Thank you Zoom. I now live in NC and continue to be a member of CTI. Rabbi and Cantor have always reached out to me, as if I was still there. And that is where my heart is.
In the face of extreme adversity, the clergy, staff and volunteers managed to create High Holiday services on Zoom that were inspiring, heartfelt and intimate. Thank you for your hard work and the many hours you dedicated to making this time of year so meaningful for all of us.
