I was lucky enough to be taught by Denise a course I took on lymphedema management. Her enthusiasm for her patients' quality of life is evident through her patient and creative teaching style. She consistently sought to find different ways to teach that matched each student's learning style. I am so grateful to have her be part of my foundational learning on lymphedema treatment.
After a bad fall i developed lymphedema in my throat/neck/tongue. I could barely speak when i first started seeing elyce due to the lymphedema. Seeing her upwards of 3x a week was the best thing i could have done. Due to a rare disease and being in a wheelchair on top of everything both elyce and monica were beyond compassionate, accommodating, friendly and caring. They made a bad situation be a bit easier. Im also happy to say that after just a month i was discharged. The change in the lymphedema swelling had gone down drastically and allowed me to really get my life back. I truly cannot thank elyce enough for all she did
"For almost three years I watched as the lymphedema in my legs crippled me. I learned it was a selfish disease. It first it took my social life, then... my ability to drive, eventually...my job. It left me living on my couch taking but a few painful steps with the help of a walker. Finally, it took my self-esteem and was on its way to taking away any hope for a purposeful future. Within a few weeks of intense work with Monica and Elyce I saw a significant difference. Not only in the size of my swollen legs, but mobility and strength of my lower extremities. They inspired me to take control of my life and do all I could to improve my situation. I have lost weight, often walk without the walker and I am driving again. They do the lymphedema massage and wrapping to get arm size down. They can do exercise recommendations too. Therapist are very nice. They measure arm for day and night garments. I recommend the day and the night garments to try to get the arm down. You can't wear a day compression garment at night unfortunately.
