Taka Sushi

Excellent sushi, the rice is fantastic. You wouldn’t believe sushi this good exists based on its location but seriously one of the best I’ve ever had.

Really authentic and cozy Japanese spot - it is on the pricier side but for the price point, you get the best value. many of the menu items are fresh and using real ingredients (ex: real miso in soup vs miso powder, fresh seafood, imported sake with actual rating scale of dry vs fruity vs sweet, real wasabi)

Sushi is simple in that old or frozen fish makes bad sushi and vis versa. Here, the sushi is fresh, and I can taste the difference. I come here for the staples, and I'm never disappointed. There is also a nice sake menu, and the staff is attentive.

Just had the omekase again. Even better fish than last time.

Little hidden gem in LI. We have been to Taka twice. The quality of fish is amazing and we love how small and intimate it is. We've had the omakase both times (at the table instead of the bar) and we were impressed both times. No need to spend a ton of money going to the city!
