Fred Astaire Dance Studios - New York Downtown

I never took dance lessons, and I’ve wanted to learn how to dance the tango for a while now. I found Fred Astaire Downtown Studio online over two months ago, and I’m so happy that I did. Now I’m learning the tango and other ballroom and rhythmic dances. Fred Astaire Downtown is a beautiful studio with a fantastic atmosphere, friendly staff, and talented and professional instructors. I love the whole experience there and recommend Fred Astaire Downtown to anyone who wants to learn to dance or improve their skills.

From the minute I walked in, the studio felt like home. The space is beautiful, the instructors are incredibly knowledgeable, and the studio director is the perfect combination of friendly, organized and assertive. I've danced at other studios before and I've never had an experience like FADS - NY Downtown. Whether you're looking to compete, learn a first dance for your wedding, or just looking for a new hobby, Downtown is the place to go!

Artem and the team at Fred Astaire Downtown helped us learn how to dance for our wedding. Over the course of 12 lessons we elegantly learned several dance steps / patterns as well as a personalized routine to song of our choosing. Artem and the team were super flexible, friendly and this was one of the highlights of our wedding experience. Super professional, fun - Highly recommend!

If anyone had told me in July that I was going to perform a foxtrot in front of people in October, I would have called them crazy. But after just a few lessons at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio, I was able to do just that! The instructors here are highly skilled, incredibly patient, and fun, able to work with people of all skill levels. They are quick to get to know you and your learning style so that you get the most out of each lesson and can leave with a good understanding of the dance.
Not only does the studio provide great teaching, it also offers a strong sense of community. Everyone in the studio is genuinely caring and encouraging, about both the classes and your life in general. I always look forward to being in the studio for lessons, group classes, parties, and performances, and I have had so much fun meeting people from all over who are excited about dancing. I love being a part of this community, and I hope to keep dancing here for years to come.
