Food was absolutely worth the price and service astounding. Everyone that works here Including the chefs were nice to us. And atmosphere was chill
And homey, good for a date.
I made a reservation several weeks ago for Wayan and I was counting down the days till our dinner. We arrived a little earlier than our reservation and they sat us down with no hesitation. The ambiance as we walked through was so chill and warm, and the music was trendy but fitting. Our waitress was very friendly and thoroughly explained her favorite dishes on the menu. We (a group of six) decided on the escargot, corn fritter, yellow rice, chicken and lamb satay, curry cauliflower, and lobster noodles (which I had seen the media rave about). The food arrived right after it was prepared and everything was presented beautifully. The escargot was smooth and buttery (melted in your mouth), the cauliflower was good (pretty basic not gonna lie but good), the satays were SO GOOD (the chicken was a little dry but flavor was great) but the lamb is a must when choosing between the two. The yellow rice and corn fritter were SO YUMMY! Now, the lobster noodles. They were not anything special at all. I was so underwhelmed. They lacked flavor, and the amount of lobster that was in it for $36 was pitiful. It’s not worth the hype unfortunately. But everything else is! For dessert we ordered the banana sundae and chocolate ganache. OOOH MY GOD. The ganache made me teleport to a whole new world. The texture was amazing and the taste was even better. Overall, we had such a great time, just a bit disappointed with the noodles but no worries.
Recently had dinner with 6 of my loved ones at this Indonesian restaurant that beautifully incorporated French culinary elements. The portions were meant for sharing, which was a nice touch, but they were indeed on the smaller side. What stood out was how they blended the rich flavors of Indonesia with a delicate French touch. It genuinely felt like enjoying a cozy home-cooked meal, which added to the overall experience. It was a delightful dining experience that left us with a good impression.
Our dining experience in October 2019 was a true culinary delight. Wayan's innovative fusion of Indonesian and modern French cuisines was a palate-pleasing journey. Each dish was a harmonious blend of unique flavors, showcasing the chef's creativity and expertise. The ambiance complemented the exquisite food, providing a memorable and enjoyable dining atmosphere. If you're looking for a captivating gastronomic adventure, Wayan is a must-visit destination that leaves a lasting impression.
Had made reservations for a table of five for Saturday brunch, and the restaurant was kind enough to seat us in our table even after a part of our party bailed out on us at the last minute. Their five person table facing the street as you enter the restaurant is beautiful (and perfect for a group of six adults.
We got started with some cocktails which included a very nice Rye based drink, Instant Zen ($17). It was packed with a nice taste and a kick!
For food, we got the Crab Fried Rice ($32) from their Large Plates section, and the Crispy Pandan French Toast ($18) - both being absolutely delicious! The portion size and price ratio felt a bit off with the crab fried rice, but the expert consuming that plate had very good things to say about it - specifically with the way the "fishy" crab meat smell was controlled on that plate.
Service was absolutely fantastic right from being greeted by a friendly host to servers. The restaurant set-up was also very beautiful with very good outdoor seating options! Will definitely visit again for trying out their dinner menu!
