Well, I have to say I’m a dope in public. Please accept this edited review which shows five well deserved stars!!
Excellent service and great price. I had a mainsail for my Catalina made. It arrived within 5 weeks and looks fantastic! Looking forward to the spring to hoist it. I also had sails made for my son’s boat. Which arrive promptly. Although there were a few items that needed to be addressed, Martin took care of them without question and delivered a great product.
A true professional, focused on costumer service and providing the best quality product. I will be looking for a new Jib and will get it from his sail loft! Well done!
We ordered a 150% tri-radial from Somerset which arrived over the winter. I finally had the chance to fly the new sail yesterday. It performed beautifully and our boat a Pearson 10M was sailing at or above hull speed for most of the 12 mile race we were sailing in.
I purchased a Screecher for my 35' Irwin and have to say that it is fantastic absolutely top workmanship excellent. my local sail loft was also impressed with this sail and the workmanship looking forward to many years of flying the Piranha
My only complaint with Somerset Sails is they are to far away from Tampa Bay and shipping is expensive to the Great Lake area. I've purchased 3 sails and all have been excellent. Some minor glitches which Martin always deals with without complaint. I wish he had some cooperative agreement with a local sail maker that would save some shipping when that happens. Martin has been very personable and always willing to offer some saged advice. There is no shortage of cynical "experts" when it comes to sails, all I know is my poky old Catalina 30 goes like H**L with the sails made by Somerset.
