“Every school has their ups and downs, including this one. Please know the history before you bash the school. Yes, Trump attended this school, but that's definitely NOT what makes the school. In my opinion, it has no bearing on the school at all! Famous people have to attend schools somewhere! This school went into bankruptcy and almost closed for good. They started out with a small class about 2 years ago and continue to grow. They are NOT a common core school. They are a college prep school with a military style. It seems they will likely gain more military ground (style of teaching/learning) as they grow. The school is remodeling, raising funds to build a new baseball field (in honor of the late Coach Les McMillen) and has updated many of their textbooks as well as sports uniforms. I never threatened my son to attend NYMA. He was interested in the military and we felt this would be a good fit! The first year was difficult and he still struggles. However, I have given him the option of returning to public school and he has asked to stay. He literally races other students to see who can get there first! The teachers and staff are caring and they are consistently looking for ways to make things better, which reflects in frequent changes throughout the school. I haven't seen a child slip through the cracks, but I have found sometimes they have too much time on their hands. If they aren't responsible, they will get in trouble! You should know your child and attend multiple school tours before you send them to any private school. Their success depends on what style suits them best! The good out weighs the bad and everyone at NYMA is committed to helping our young children grow into outstanding adults! Open houses are monthly and tours are given by cadets at will. Attend one and see for yourself before you believe the negative comments from people who haven't attended in years and/or attended before new ownership.”

“I really like Main Street Music. The staff is very friendly and helpful and it is a very comfortable and relaxed environment to take music lessons for children or adults. I take lessons with Sandy and love it. She's very encouraging and she pushes me to improve. She helps me to correct bad playing habits and improve my sound and ability. I previously took a lesson at the New Windsor School of Music but found their scheduling a bit difficult and inflexible for my circumstances, though the lesson itself was good. As an adult my schedule changes from time to time and occasionally I need to change my lesson time. Main Street Music is very flexible and easily accommodates my scheduling needs. I really recommend taking lessons here :)”

“I am 77 years old, and attended Storm King for my Junior year of secondary education. I began college the following year. My year at Storm King was one of the most beneficial educational years of my life. The faculty were accessible and were sincerely concerned with my progress. The exposure to the administration, faculty, guest speakers and other staff members (even the kitchen staff when I washed dishes) was of lasting benefit. While there I developed an interest in history and literature which has lasted a lifetime, and a clearer understanding of my place in the world. I wish I could re-live the experience.”
