A decent place to fish, kids play and swim
Pristine and gorgeous. Tons of birds singing.
Actual address to access: 46 Guymard Turnpike, Godeffroy, NY 12729, turn at the Neversink/Nature Concervency sign. Then it's about a mile down an unmarked gravel road to the parking/map and project info. Cute local preserve, Yellow trail by the river is gorgeous. Other trails are a bit damp and grassy, with lots of overhanging vegetation, signage sporadic . Perfect tick conditions but I didn't get any. Did get followed by a veritable cloud of insects, some bitey some just annoying. Lot of small wildlife, birds, dragonflies, frogs, toads, and even a garden snake.
EDIT: one tiny tick nymph
Beautiful trail along the river. We went for about an hour hike there and back. It was quiet, easy terrain, and shaded. Lots of plants, frogs, cool looking trees. Could possibly picnic on the rocks at the river edge. Make sure you bring tick spray! Also, make sure you go to the right location (off of Guymard turnpike) because at the time I write this post, it lists the wrong location.
