I have never once, in my life, made any of my rowers "move rocks all day." That is patently false. Ask any of my kids and they'll tell you that my goal, always, is to spend as much time on the water as possible.
I also have over a decade of experience rowing and coaching the sport of crew. That includes high school medals in state championship events, collegiate top finishes and everything in between. I've studied under some of the most talented and respected coaches on the east coast. I am constantly monitoring and correcting technique, on the water and on the machines. Every person is different, some have a higher learning curve than others. But to say that any coach is teaching people to row incorrectly is patently false.
I'm not here to bash any rowing club, even those I compete against. I'm a firm believer that the more outlets for rowing, the better it is for everyone. If you found a program that suits you better, all the power to you and I wish you the best of luck. But save the vitriol and unfair characterizations.
I love the NRC. I put my heart and soul into that boathouse and I would do anything for my kids. I encourage anyone curious to swing by and speak with me or my assistant coaches. All are welcome.
Great way to have alot of fun. Once u join there is no turning back. Its like a good marriage, some days u love it like crazy and other days ya hate it but u'll nvr stop rowing. Love this place
