Dr. Tocidlowski was thorough and always spot on with his diagnoses. He always took the time to explain his reasoning in a meaningful and detailed way that I could easily follow, which is essential to getting the impatient patients to follow the recommended practices for recovery. He left Optum because of the constraints imposed by corporate. I am trying to locate his new practice. Good doctor, I will stick with him if I can.
Dr. Tocidlowski was my first primary doctor after my previous doctor (Dr. Nilo Herrera, whom I knew for almost 38 years!) retired last year, so to actually find a physician that didn't make it seem like they were watching the clock was important to me. The fact that Dr. Tocidlowski was located in the same building that Dr. Herrera was located just made things much better, and I was fortunate.
Dr. Tocidlowski was a very compassionate physician; he took the time to answer questions, and he took the time to discuss treatment with each patient. I never had an issue with my refills, and never had an issue with feeling like I didn't really matter to him.
You may realize that I'm speaking in the past tense; the reason being that Dr. Tocidlowski is no longer with Optum Health (formerly CareMount Medical) and a lot of us former patients are suddenly left without a primary care physician. Personally, I just got the e-mail yesterday on Friday, December 15, 2023.
I suspect that Optum Health (which has been run like garbage since they took over CareMount) is trying to run their medical group as a "patient mill" (where doctors are discouraged from spending more than 15 minutes per patient) and I believe some of these one-star reviews are reflecting misplaced anger and disappointment because of this, and not because of Dr. Tocidlowski himself.
In the past 8 months since I had him, I can attest that Dr. Tocidlowski even allowed me to make an appointment which was during his usual lunch break, and not once was I treated like he didn't care about me as a patient. I would recommend Dr. Tocidlowski to anyone, despite the fact that he's no longer with his previous practice.
I'm also writing this review as I'm out of State currently for a month, and Optum Health has now left me in a jam because I need some of my prescriptions rewritten. I'm not happy, of course, and I can't blame other previous patients for being upset; I just feel that Dr. Tocidlowski deserves a fair rating, and not one that's tainted by his sudden departure from a severely lackluster medical group.
Dr. Tocidlowski,
Is an amazing MD, he is kind, has a great deal of patience, listens to your concerns. Unfortunately, thing did change when Optium took over the practice, suddenly there were no appointments, too many new patient's added into the mix and wait times increased. This was not Dr. Tocidlowski's fault, more so a failure of the new health care company. Once again corporate greed overshadows patient care. Shame on them, when people pushed to the max they will become unhappy and leave. Hoping to find out were Dr. Tocidlowski ends up my family and I will follow him to his new practice.
