“After several consultations for Bunion surgery, I found Dr. Berman at Somers Orthopaedics. At my consultation, he explained the bunion surgery called Lapiplasty. I am a very active person, and on my feet most of the day and was concerned about the down-time of bunion surgery as well as the pain. I underwent the procedure in November 2017 without complications of any type. My recovery was minimally painful (at its worst a 2 out of 10 on pain scale). I used a knee walker instead of crutches for the first couple weeks. Once I was put into the boot. I was able to walk in about 2-3 weeks. Within 3 mos I was back to cycling, elliptical and yoga! Within 5 mos I was wearing nice heels and running 5K! I can’t reccommend Dr. Berman highly enough. His professional knowledge, and expertise have made my procedure and recovery better then I could have imagined! I have several friends who are 1-2 years out of traditional bunion surgery, and still not comfortable. This procedure seemed to work great for me, and I would recommend seeing Dr. Berman before you decide to do any type of bunion surgery!! 5++ stars!!”
