“Lovely little park and lake. It's a nice short two more walk around the lake. Lots of vegetation, birds (geese, swans, ducks etc), turtles and squirrels. They recently upgraded the area around the lake and elevated the path. They added rocks along the perimeter and lots of new benches. The path is now less muddy and there are plenty of clean benches to sit and reflect. There are plenty of areas to park and it's within walking distance of restaurants. You can sit and eat by the lake. Unfortunately there's a lot of mosquitos so make sure to bring mosquito repellent.”

“Nice small to medium sized playground. Handball / paddleball courts and a basketball court, children's swings, two jungle gyms (one for ~2-4 year old kids, another for ~4-8 year old kids), and lots of trees. Bathrooms, too. When we got here it was empty, but filled up within an hour or so, mid-morning. If you like empty parks, go early. I wouldn't say it was packed, but it had an appropriate number of people. It was neither sparse nor crowded. The basketball court was filled with high school students. Seemed good natured. The jungle gyms are over rubber safety mats. However, if you have a baby, be careful because the black mats get surprisingly hot in the morning sun. Nice place, clean, beautiful scenery, nice neighborhood, good people.”

“Local beach to NYC. Beautiful- easy to get to by bus, ferry or car. Clean and delish local food and drink pop ups are here this summer. Great breeze and water temp cannot be beat right now! Loved my time at Jacob Riis this summer. Will definitely go back. Much closer and less packed than Jones Beach.”

“The people at the surf club may try and tell you this whole beach is private but don't listen--the Breezy Point Tip is part of the National Park and you have every right to be there. This place is a bit of a trek, but the beach is nice and the view is nicer.”

“Good food, good music, good atmosphere. Prices are not the cheapest, but you get good quality and it's right on the boardwalk. Best part is the shaded seating area complete with live entertainment and a dance floor. Bring a sweater in the evening! The ocean breeze can get a bit chilly.”

“This place is right down the block from some interestingly "ghetto fabulous" people. Generally not much to pay attention to but they have their moments. Playground is primarily for babies and grandparents; swings, slides, water fountains...tables and chairs. The bathroom is pretty decent (when it's open).”
