This is a historic and architectural gem in downtown Troy. It feels like an evening out at a Victorian opera. The acoustics are so good, there are no bad seats in the house. The seats are wooden and not too comfortable, so you may want to bring a little cushion if that's a problem for you. Parking is on-street or in Troy city lots a few blocks away.
Came here for Chris Botti this evening; my mother and I had Parquet Right seating, row C, seats 6 and 8. Let me say; what a view. We practically were part of the show, we were THAT close. Acoustics were as good as they say they are here, and what a performance. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and parking at the parking garage down the road was a breeze. Overall enjoyable night; hope to stop by again soon.
I'd challenge anyone to find a more intimate yet grand venue for just about anything: this hall is as near perfect as I've experienced. There truly isn't a subpar seat in the house and the sound is so dialed in that it should be heard to be understood. The entire cadre of staff is supremely helpful and warm and convivial to boot. Easily my favorite venue around...can't say enough about what a gem this spot is. Go! Check it out!
Beautiful theater with balcony seating. The acoustics were fantastic. You could hear all the voices and instruments. Everything was well balanced. They do have a cash bar with beer, wine and soft drinks and a few snacks. The one negative is the hall got VERY warm. They really should crank up the A/C before getting a large crowd. They do have an elevator for the handicapped but be prepared to climb 3 flights of stairs to get to your seats. Parking isn't easy. We lucked out and got a spot 2 blocks away so come early to find a spot in walking distance.
Sara Evans was headlining. What I can say positively is that after her first few numbers where her performance was a bit pitchy and seemed to 'wander', she kicked into high gear and her voice was mostly incredible. But Sarah, if your reading this, please get someone to make you over! She essentially said she was watching a series on Netflix and almost didn't want to perform. To be honest it looked like she rolled out of bed and threw on a pair of jeans and a long 'smock'. She just didn't look like a star at all. I'm sure that sounds shallow, but it's true as I wasn't the only one to make such a comment. There was a beautiful young woman named Tanner Adell who was the opening act who was very good and looked like a star (hint, hint, Sara). Sara's daughter Olivia sings backup and also performed Tennessee Whiskey solo. She was another lovely sight with a really nice voice. Everyone sang great, Sara just needs to put a little effort into her appearance - I still love you Sara!
Great old theater to see show. The acoustics are world renowned. I took one star off because the seats are extremely tight and make a lot of noise when they are opened and shut. It's especially annoying when people have to get up to let someone out in the middle of a show. Nevertheless, I wouldn't hesitate to see another concert here.
