“This park it's a science spot. With its variety of wildlife, the park affords to me the opportunity to observe plants and animals in their natural habitat. I saw there the smallest species of frog on Staten Island. There are also red-backed salamanders and painted turtles. There we find mallards and wood ducks. Others birds that I could see are the great blue heron. By the way, the site's boundaries of this park are Hylan Boulevard, Arbutus Avenue, Huguenot Avenue, and Shore Avenue. The last of these, Shore Avenue, has eroded. Visit this awesome natural area. ****”

“I didn't play personally but, from what I could see, the court looked clean. The older gentlemen that were playing there that day seemed to have a pretty big crowd gathered around. So I would say the bocce ball court was nice and in working condition. There is plenty of benches around a public bathroom.”

“This is an incredibly breathtaking place. I really DON't want to review it because I want to keep it a secret. From the big lighthouse topped bluff to the woodlands and fields, you would never believe that you are standing within the territory of NYC. They have made vast improvements as of late. I just love the vibe and history of this place. I have seen deer, snakes, bald eagles, falcons, snapping turtles and many other creatures in this place. One of Staten Island's best kept secrets. Sledding in the winter, too!”

“This is a great UTR park that is impeccably clean, paved, and more than worth the trip. There is a new pavilion overlooking the water (you can still smell the fresh scent of the new wooden picnic tables) and although the structure dedicated to Mary is technically no longer a shrine (the land was purchased from the Archdiocese of NY in 1999), it is a spiritual refuge to some and a peaceful place for all. Plus, you may see a bunny.”

“A hidden gem on Staten Island. You will not believe this sort of preservation is within one of the five boroughs. It is known to locals of course but not heavily frequented. Lots of deer to be seen; walking trails, ponds and various wild life and streams. Once you are five minutes into it feels like a place far far away.”
