Driscoll's Lock and Key

Brought in some crazy old toolbox keys one of which was broken in half! I left with two fully working keys! Good luck getting service like that at a big box store. Customer for life.

Charlie, the locksmith, came out to our house to look at the worn lock on our 30+ year old sliding patio door. He was prompt, friendly, and immediately identified the nature of the problem, which required either replacing the door (very expensive) or finding an aftermarket lock that fit the door. He was kind enough to photograph our exisiting lock and to do some initial research to identify a make and model of new lock that appeared to very closely resemble our existing lock, and he advised me to take measurements of our existing lock to confirm that it matched the dimensions of the new lock he identified. I was able to connect to the manufacturer's site to view the new lock, including color options, and to compare my measurements with the manufacturer specs, which matched perfectly. I ordered the lock, and after it was delivered, I phoned Charlie to arrange another service call to install the new lock. He arrived during the agreed upon window, and went right to work installing the new lock. It did indeed fit, and he further cut down one user modifiable part to match the thickness of our door. He did not charge for two separate service calls, since the first call involved merely assessing the nature of the problem, and determining that the lock needed replacement, rather than repair. So instead of spending well in excess of $1000 to replace the door, we got our existing door fixed for about $250, including all parts.
We are VERY happy with the quality of work performed by Driscoll's, and wouldn't hesitate to hire them again when we need any further locksmith work.
