I did an extended stay with The Stockade Inn from 06/23/22 to 09/23/22. The room that was provided was very clean and spacious and it was easy for me to come and go as I please. They have a good size parking lot which was great because I drive a a rather large vehicle. I had a really decent size fridge for hotel standards as well as a microwave that worked perfectly. They have the best wifi known to man(seriously) and their heating and cooling unit was very dependable and user friendly. Security is good having us punch in our room codes to enter the premises so safety is a priority at the Stockade. Communication from management(just timing wise)could use a bit of improvement but was never a serious matter as they were always pleasant and helpful AND they were currently renovating and making improvements to the Stockade while I was present as an extended stay. They really appreciate their extended stay folks for being with them during this exciting time. The Stockade is located in a really neat historical neighborhood that is quite interesting and pretty quaint. I would definitely consider returning to the Stockade as I always felt very comfortable staying with them.

I loved the charm of this hotel in a heritage building. I found the staff very friendly. It's a great location too, within walking distance of the train station and the casino (I was in Schenectady to see a band perform there).

The inn has a very comfortable ambiance. My room was spacious and very clean. I looked forward to walking down the staircase each morning to get my breakfast and bringing it up to my room. The staff was warm and welcoming. I will definitely stay there again.

Beautiful, well-maintained 19th century building in a historic district of Schenectady, 4 minutes from Union College. The hotel, over all, has the feeling of a stately home of a wealthy family from the 1800s. The room was spotless, with really high ceilings and windows. Heating came from a single radiator unit, but the room warmed up surprisingly quickly. Beds felt new (firm mattress, no lumps), and the room had some elegant touches, like a central chandelier. The bathroom was spotless. Being an older building, it took a few minutes for the shower to warm up, but there was plenty of hot water once it did. The bathroom was shower-stall only, which worked fine for me. The doors are locked at 10pm, but when we arrived after midnight, the night manager answered after a single ring and was at the door to let us in within seconds. He offered us water or coffee before sending us off to bed, and both he and the morning manager were pleasant and helpful. The hotel is not friendly to the mobility impaired. There was no wheelchair accessible entrance, and there are several steps to get to the front door. All of the rooms are upstairs, and the single elevator seems too narrow for a wheelchair. The event space looks lovely. Continental breakfast was muffins, bagels, fresh fruit, single-serving cereals or oatmeal, and bottled water or juices, in addition to coffee or tea. Nothing fancy, but a pleasure to eat in the leather library chairs or in front of the sitting room fire (gas). Parking is not well-marked but is abundant and accessible in lots behind the building or across the street. Would definitely stay again.

The rooms are somewhat basic, though not in a bad way, with showers and bathroom amenities all being covered. Even the cot that was provided was very nice. For being hundreds of years old the place is in great shape. The original elevator still runs and is a cool novelty if you are in to that sort of thing, though there are only three floors so ypu probably won't be using it much. The place has PLENTY of parking and is situated in a very nice area close to numerous restaurants and other stores, some of which can be found just down the street and are easily within walking distance. Overall, I had a great experience and I very much enjoyed my stay, especially for the great price.
