“I just wanted to show my gratitude to the fine young men and women of the Coast Guard stationed at Eatons Neck. Last night, I was out fishing in Northport harbor, it was a little foggy when we left port, but not bad enough at the time to turn back.. after an hour, the ceiling dropped, and we were in fog like ive never witnessed before in my 30 + years of boating experience. I called Sea Tow for assistance, but they were unwilling to venture out, and we were told to hunker down in the pouring rain and fog in a center console with now means of getting out of the elements. The Coast Guard heard my conversations and calls for assistance, and offered to come check on my situation. I was on anchor right near a lighted Red buoy and I Was concerned not about staying out, but rather someone else not seeing me on their way back in and getting struck by another vessel.. These guys made their way from Port Jeff doing no more than 5 kts the whole way, found me in the pea soup fog and guided me back safely to port. These guys went above and beyond in those conditions and I cant tell you how thankful I am..”

They have games to play while you wait to be called for rotation. The instructors were great and very relaxed but yet energetic. “First off, if you're wondering, YOU GET TO KEEP YOUR PHONE HERE!! This was my second time in residential. I was dealing with serious self-harm issues and my eating disorder was out of control. I went there in June 2021, and though my first few nights I felt homesick and scared, I slowly felt more and more at home. The place is beautiful, and they let you individualize your treatment so it fits your exact needs!! I told the nurse at admissions (Letiticia, who was super nice!!) that I struggled with self-harm and that I hadn't told my mom. They trusted me to tell her myself, and my therapist (Marci) supported me through that. The staff were so nice, and compared to Walden Behavioral Care, this place is amazing. My parents were so surprised when I came home that I had changed so much. This place saved my life. If you're looking for eating disorder treatment, this is the place to go!!”

(Mechanics for boats are hard to find now on Long Island) So when we divined it was my fuel pump we needed it ASAP as he had to boat home before dark. Sure enough Lighthouse had the fuel pump! “I have attended this synagogue many times, some were high holy days and then just regular services. This place is a place of G-d. The worship is Spirit (ruach ha-kodesh) filled and the knowledge of Judaism and Christianity is powerful as the Rabbis teach the lessons that intertwine these two powerful Faiths together as they should be. Hearing the Songs and the Scriptures being vocalize in Hebrew is so moving, the worship is very powerful. Hearing the children speaking/singing the language of Hebrew, that they have been taught in this temple and watching them dance while worshipping is a joy to behold. Attending a service there is like seeing (and feeling) the contentment you get when you fit the final piece into completing a puzzle that has been 5000 years in the making. The truth of Scripture is taught here.”
